The permanent injury finding referenced above is also known as being at maximum medical improvement (MMI). This step on the ladder is a huge turning point, because you may now be eligible for a lump-sum payment. Settlement Talks
If everything has gone well, the workers' comp insurer will offer you a settlement in this, the final step on the ladder.
