Proving Your Doctor Had Committed Medical Fraud

If during this procedure you discover paperwork pertaining to your medical records had been altered to cover up any wrongdoing, you will also need to push through with a medical fraud case. Here are some steps you can take to help in proving your doctor intentionally misled you medically, leading to an ill outcome as a result.

It Will Be Necessary To Find Witnesses To The Misconduct

In many cases, doctors who made deliberate choices in the handling of medical problems will have other physicians and nurses who work with them willing to back up their claims. It will be difficult to find someone who works with your physician to make a statement against the way the physician handled your medical issue, but it is still important to try. If your physician had made poor decisions in the past where others were affected medically, and if they had covered up their actions, there may be people who had witnessed this behavior time and time again. If a coworker feels this is unethical, they may be helpful to your own case.

Consider asking friends and others in the neighborhood about their thoughts about your physician. Someone may open up about a bad experience and come to your aid in proving your own medical condition treatment was deceitfully administered.

Find Out If Paperwork Has Been Altered To Hide Information

Your medical records will need to be checked over in detail to help prove your physician gave you deliberate, wrong advice or services regarding the treatment of your condition. Your attorney will help you sift through this paperwork to look for any erroneous information that can be used to prove misconduct. If the paperwork seems to have been reprinted well after your medical condition was treated, it is possible prior information was destroyed and new information was put into your files. If handwritten information has been erased and rewritten, an authentication expert will need to be hired to see if information was altered at a later date. This can be done by looking at the type of pen or pencil used, as well as analyzing the handwriting on the documentation. This may be able to help prove that the information was different than what you had been told by your physician before you had treatment.
